Iris has the most beautiful lyrics of all the songs ive ever listened to. Infact this City of Angel soundtrack is one of my favourite songs ever.

"when everything feels like the movies, yeah you bleed just to know youre alive",
theyre relating the movies to the "perfect life"; where the sun is always shining and everything has a happy ending. But "you bleed just to know youre alive" refers to trying to break free of that perfect life and feel alive.

"And I don't want the world to see me... Cause I don't think that they'd understand.
...When everything's made to be broken.. I just want you to know who I am."

For me the chorus simply refers that in this reality when people underestimate every decision that we make, it is still the right place to live in since there are or there is someone out there who believes in you. And sad the lyrics may sound to the song, just knowing he/she exist is all that matters..

Spring Waltz is shown on local primetime now here in the Philippines. I tried not to watch since i think it has cheesy love story thingy but I guess I just can’t escape this song, so, thanks to the very catchy tune, I could only glue myself to the TV. I think this is one of those sad series where the lead girl will die. I have no idea since I haven’t read any synopsis yet.

This is the English version of the main song, sung by Acel Bisa, the sweet ex-Moonstar88 vocalist.

Oh, and it always feels lonely whenever they play Oh my Darling Clementine.

I was astounded when I saw this animation at Youtube. At first I thought it was created by some amateur whiz artist who wanted to use youtube as a conduit for his pieces. Turns out the animation is created by Lev Yilmaz, a short film auteur who narrates his life using no-budget animated stick figures.

Lev's protagonist reminds me of Woody Allen - a modern insecure male - self-conscious and complex-ridden. His animations are narrated in a mature self-deprecating down-to-earth tone.

Dear Alcohol,
Thank you for taking over my five senses last night. You ruined my image to all my school mates especialy to those who were just beginning to know me. Why o why on earth did you had to be like that? Telling everyone things that they're not actually suppose to know. Revealing secrets that has been kept secrets for years? Alcohol, I'm good in pretending someone different in the university by being someone wacky. And it seems that the table was turned the other way round that night just because you and you're alcoholic elements have to take over my damn system. To be honest, You fucked me up so bad. Seriously you did. Honestly, now I don't even know if I still have the guts to show my face in the campus tomorrow. All thanks to you. You and your drunkenness.
And even now, while blogging.. my head still hurts like arghhh.. Damn hang over!

The FEU Pride!

To those who are still wondering, I'm actually taking up Pre-Law. I'm majoring in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in Far Eastern University (FEU). The university was once dubbed as the “Largest University in Asia,” with an almost 50,000-student population in the early 1950s. And btw, it's a non-sectarian university. HAHA! Imagine me ending up in a non-religious university. Right Gerard? Anyway, the university is also one of the pioneers of accountancy in the Philippines today.

Finally, the Sandiganbayan decision on the trial of former President Joseph Estrada closes a chaotic chapter in our history. Whether President Arroyo offers Mr. Estrada a pardon or the Supreme Court sees fit to reverse the lower court’s ruling, we should be relieved to close the book on a very controversial case that took the court more than six years to make a judgment on. ~~The trial took a long time because both defense and prosecution laid claims to postponements and recesses in the interest of a fair trial.~~ Both sides, but particularly the defense, took advantage of the legal dodges allowed by law. They were meticulous in their preparation and thorough in the court skirmishes. In the end, due process was observed. The trial upheld the rule of law.

It was a controversial case for many reasons. Estrada was not a 20-year dictator but a popularly elected president when he was thrown out of power. His defense in the impeachment trial never prospered because the prosecutors walked out abruptly over an unopened envelope. His own secretary of defense and his generals withheld critical support during the second Edsa revolt. When the Supreme Court validated his ouster and installed the vice president, the accusations against him took a powerful, inexorable force.

The Sandigan cleared Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and the lawyer Eduardo Serapio. That should help console the former president. The lower court also said he could continue to stay in his comfortable home in Tanay. A motion for reconsideration before the Sandigan holds out some hope, even if slim. An appeal to the Supreme Court offers a lifeline.

What lessons have we learned?
First, almost every Filipino is saying we should forswear “people power” as an alternative to bad government. Second, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, like the professional Civil Service, should uphold neutrality and independence on a grave constitutional issue. Third, the system is unfair because it allows the guilty to walk away from a crime. Finally, we learned that there is no sanctuary from misdeeds in the highest office of the land.

The Estrada precedent will cast a lingering shadow on the political landscape for a very long time
